Volunteering opportunities include administration, animal welfare, arts, disability support, education, emergency services, environment, health, human rights, aged care, children's services and sport and recreation.
Armadale Volunteer Services has more than 150 positions available at over 100 different agencies.

Step Into Volunteering Sessions
Armadale Volunteer Services frequently holds information sessions for people wanting to volunteer but not sure how to get started. These sessions are advertised on our What's On section.
Specific Cause
If you are interested in a specific cause or organisation, you might like to search the web for groups that meet your values in your desired area of volunteering.
Many organisations have online portals on their web pages where you can request further information about volunteering for them.

Also, when volunteering for an organisation, it's important to always ask about insurance – Public Liability, Volunteer Personal Accident and Professional Indemnity insurance.
Armadale Volunteer Services (AVS) provides a free service for community organisations looking for volunteers. Services include:
- Registration of your organisation's volunteer positions on our database
- Subsequent promotion of position on Seek and Go Volunteer
- Referral of prospective volunteers
- Assistance with recruitment of volunteers
- Access to information on training and grant opportunities
Half yearly, our members are invited to attend networking sessions to discuss:
- Volunteer management
- Promoting volunteering
- Recognising volunteering
- Encouraging best practice
Membership is free.
To register, you must be a not-for-profit organisation and provide a current copy of Certificate of Currency stating Public Liability Cover and Volunteer Personal Accident Cover.
We do not conduct reference checks or police checks, and we strongly urge organisations to undertake these where necessary. As always, the decision to accept a volunteer rests with you.
