Children of Armadale will be encouraged to Celebrate, Play and Discover during national Children’s Week 21 - 29 October, as the City of Armadale hosts a number of events and activities to keep them captivated.
On Wednesday 25 October (4.30 - 6pm), during the first of four sessions of the Night Fields program, multisports will be held for children aged 18 months to five years old on the sidelines at Gwynne Park.
Night Fields is a free football and netball program being held across four sessions in October and November hosted by the City of Armadale in partnership with the WA Football Commission.
Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the City expected many families would be attending Night Fields with younger siblings of the participants, with the Night Fields program aimed for those aged six years and over.
“The Children’s Week activities will provide activities for those on the sidelines aged a little younger and possibly itching to do some sport themselves as they watch older siblings participating,” Mayor Zelones said.
On Thursday 26 October, the young will be invited to join the young at heart at the Age Friendly Expo, featuring interactive activities, stallholders and demonstrations catering for all ages.
On Friday 27 October (9.30 – 11.30am), a family fun morning will be held, with a range of interactive family focussed activities available at Harrisdale Pavilion.
“Children’s Week is the perfect time to celebrate the future leaders of this community, and we hope little ones in the area will enjoy the many activities we have on offer this year,” Mayor Zelones said.
