Almost 30,000 premises in the City of Armadale will switch over to National Broadband Network (nbn™) in early 2017.
The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) has partnered with the nbn™ to encourage growth using better, faster internet connectivity.
Grant funding of $150K is available across business, community and education categories for nbn™ network users Australia wide.
Organisations registered and operating in Australia with a valid ABN can submit an application for the grants and are required to address a criteria that includes access to the nbn™ network at a wholesale speed tier of 25 Mbps or higher.
There are three grants of $25K and six grants of $10K available, and an ‘nbn™ Staff Choice’ award of $15K.
Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the nbn™ rollout in Armadale commenced in October 2016 and is planned to be completed in July 2017.
“Residents in the City of Armadale will be connected to high-speed broadband on the nbn™.
“Fast broadband will provide real advantages, from handling large volumes of data quickly to supporting technologies like online sales, cloud computing and video collaboration.
“The speed and reliability of the nbn™ will mean access to entertainment, education resources, digital tools and work/life integration for businesses and residents”, he said.
Applications for the funding grants close Friday 17 February 2017.
