The local art scene in Armadale will once again take the spotlight in April when the City hosts the inaugural Armadale Arts Festival.
In a delightfully creative program of live music, performance, markets, workshops and visual arts, the Armadale Arts Festival will run over 17 days, with 30 events showcasing a wide range of high quality talent coming from this region.
Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the City was very proud to be hosting this unique community festival which celebrates art in its many forms and provides a platform to develop and inspire more creative community activities now and into the future.
“I believe one of the indicators of a thriving community is evidence of creative expression,” he said.
“Art brings our community closer and whether it’s painting, photography, music, dance, writing or performance, the importance of arts and creative activities to the development and wellbeing of our City and its residents can never be underestimated.
“The Armadale Arts Festival celebrates our community’s diversity and the fantastic talent that we have residing in this area. This exciting program of events will have something for everyone.”
The Armadale Arts Festival will be officially opened by WA Culture and Arts Minister Hon. John Day MLA and will run from 1-17 April alongside the renowned Minnawarra Art Awards.
