Stockland has started construction on the new $51 million Harrisdale Shopping Centre, and remains on track for a mid-2016 opening.
When complete, the centre will offer 12,200 square metres of retail space, and include a full line Woolworths supermarket, ALDI and 30 specialty stores.
Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones OAM JP said the City has been working with Stockland to expedite this project and provide the much-needed retail facilities to major growth regions Piara Waters and Harrisdale.
“It is great to see Stockland Harrisdale progressing construction so quickly,” he said.
“With the population of Piara Waters and Harrisdale forecast to grow to 34,804 by 2036, the need for major shopping facilities is clear.
“This is the first stage of a development that, over time, will become a full-scale, sub-regional town centre of approximately 25,000 square metres when completed.”
