Stage One of the community and sporting facility on Wright Road in the growth suburb of Piara Waters has almost been completed.
Works have included:

- Installation of drainage and reticulation
- Preparation of the playing field
- Installation of cricket wicket, light towers, power transformers
- Perimeter planting
- Installation of the playing surface (turf) by early August
Stage Two of the project is anticipated to begin in September and will include the construction of the pavilion, car park, playground and cricket nets.
The Piara Waters (North) Community and Sporting Facility is a key strategic project for the City of Armadale said Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones.
“Piara Waters and Harrisdale are two of the fastest growing suburbs in the City. We are rolling out a new street each week and a new neighbourhood each year in these areas.
“Piara Waters (North) Community and Sporting Facility will be a multi-purpose facility which is expected to accommodate a large number of sporting and community groups catering for these growth suburbs.
“The facility will have a Main Hall, change rooms, alfresco area, meeting room, kitchen and kiosk and will provide a sporting and social hub which caters for our growing communities in Piara Waters and Harrisdale,” said Mayor Zelones.
The total project is over $5.8 million, with over $3.4 million from the development contribution scheme, $1.4 million from the City of Armadale and $1 million of grant funding secured through the Department of Sport and Recreation’s Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund.
The project is expected to be completed by early 2014.
