Judges for the Minnawarra Art Awards were once again blown away by the calibre of exhibiting artists at this year’s event.
Arts consultant Paula Silbert and St John of God Healthcare Art Collection Curator Connie Petrillo judged this year’s exhibition which was curated by Kristy Gough.
There are 103 exhibiting works, by 65 artists, 15 of whom live locally.
In an effort to support our local art community, the City is presenting two community workshops associated with the art awards:
- Surviving the Arts and Media workshop for aspiring and professional artists by Paula Silbert.
- Professional Development Session for local school art teachers by our Curator Kristy Gough.
Members of the public can enter the People’s Choice Award by voting on their favourite artwork. A lucky member of the public, who chooses the most popular artwork, will also win a package of local produce from the Armadale Visitor Centre to the value of $100.
The Minnawarra Art Awards is open every day between 11am – 4pm from Saturday 2 May to Sunday 17 May. All artworks are for sale.
Art Award winners will take out a total prize pool of $17,000.
