Battery operated or rechargeable adult intimate toys are classified as E-waste and banned from kerbside bins and Bulk waste verge Collections.  Adult intimate toys may be recycled  at e-waste disposal points at the Transfer Station located at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, or participating electrical retailers.

Unwanted reverse cycle air conditioners that cannot be resold or donated may be taken to the designated area at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. Reverse cycle air conditioners are accepted at no cost, however ducting has an associated cost for disposal

Clean aluminium foil should be scrunched into a golf ball size, and placed in the yellow lid recycling bin

Up to 20L of ammonia based cleaning liquids (sealed and labelled) are accepted at no cost at the Transfer Station at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. Safe processing of these items forms part of the Household Hazardous Waste program

Metal antennas may be recycled at the Transfer Station section of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility at no cost. Alternatively, antennas may be placed out during bulk waste verge collection, if less than 1.8 metres in length

Unwanted large electrical appliances that cannot be resold/donated may be placed out during bulk waste verge collection, or taken to designated area of  Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility.

Up to four (4) small appliances (eg toasters etc) may be recycled in the E-waste section of the Transfer Station, or via participating electrical retailers 

Appropriately packaged asbestos (maximum weight 5kg in total) is accepted at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, however conditions apply, refer to the City's website for precise instructions regarding asbestos disposal <5kg

This service is available to residents upon presentation of rates notice or similar identification forms

When cold, ash may be added to the compost bin, or, bagged and put into the general waste bin

Barbeques cannot to be placed in kerbside bins. If they cannot be sold or donated, they may be collected during bulk waste verge collection or taken to Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (note: fees and conditions apply)

Car batteries may be recycled at the designated area of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (at no cost, however quantity conditions apply)

Battery disposal is banned in kerbside bins.  Dispose of batteries from power tools and vacuums etc at the Transfer Station at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, collection bins provided by participating retailers and the City's recycling hubs located at libraries, the Administration centre, and Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre

Dispose of bikes/bike parts/scooters and skateboards that cannot be donated/resold at the designated area of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (note: fees and conditions apply). E-scooters are classified as E-waste and may be disposed of at the E-waste collection area of the Transfer Station. These items may be placed out during bulk waste verge collection

Roller blinds, vertical and venetian blinds, if not suitable for resale or listing on "buy nothing" social media group pages, may be placed out during bulk waste verge collection, or taken to the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (note: fees and conditions apply)

Dispose of bones in the general waste bin

Disposal of metal bottle tops is via the general waste bin. Metal bottle tops are not recyclable due to their small size being unsuited to capture within recycling plant machinery 

Clean and flattened cardboard may be taken to the designated area of Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility and recycled at no cost. Alternatively, place clean, flattened cardboard in the recycling bin (yellow lid)

Branches may placed on the verge during the City's bi-annual Greenwaste collection. Greenwaste may also be taken to the Roleystone Greenwaste Facility or the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (fees and conditions apply). Save and reuse bubble wrap, or place in the general waste bin

When empty, butane canisters from camping stoves or kitchen blow torches may be disposed of at the designated area of the Armadale Landfill and Recyling Facility at no cost (note: conditions apply)

Cameras are classified as E-waste and banned from disposal in kerbside bins. Please ensure these are recycled at participating retailers, or the e-waste collection area at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility

Car batteries may be recycled free at the designated area of Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (note: limits on quantity apply to this item)

Small car seat covers can be disposed of in the general waste bin,  however larger items may be taken to the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (note: fees and conditions apply)

Soiled cardboard may be placed in the general waste bin

Ensure cartons are not silver lined, then rinse, flatten and add to the recycling bin

Small quantities can be disposed of in the general waste bin, for larger volumes, fees and conditions apply

Try reselling or donating items such as ceramic tiles via "buy nothing" social media pages. Alternatively, ceramic items such as toilet bowls, cisterns and basins may be taken to the designated area at the landfill site (fees and conditions apply). NOTE: Ceramic items cannot be placed out during bulk waste verge collection.

Disposal of food packaging is via the general waste bin

If the tree is unsuitable for donation/resale, place in the general waste bin in smaller pieces. Larger trees may be disposed of at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling facility, fees and conditions apply

Place cigarette butts in the general waste bin at all times

If clothes cannot be repaired/turned into cleaning cloths, small amounts of textile waste can be placed in the general waste bin. Larger quantities can be taken to the landfill site, note conditions and charges apply

Surplus hangers can be donated to a charity shop, broken hangers may be placed in the general waste bin 

Dispose of coffee pods in the general waste bin only 

Manufacturers such as Nespresso offer a recycling service for customers, please visit their website for more details

Note: condoms should not be flushed down the toilet, disposal is via the general waste bin

Unwanted coolant (up to 20L), sealed in the original container, may be disposed of at no cost, at the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) area of the transfer station, located at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility 

Try listing unwanted corrugated iron or steel panels with a "buy nothing" social media group. Alternatively, it may be taken to the designated area of the landfill site.  Note: metal disposal is free for residents, fees and conditions apply

Unwanted kitchenware such as crockery and cutlery may be donated to Op Shops or listed with social media "buy nothing" pages. If broken, small amounts may be placed in the general waste bin

Steel curtain rods/tracks and brackets may be recycled at the designated area of the transfer station at no cost

Dispose of empty aerosol deodorant tins at any of the City's recycling hubs located at libraries, the Administration building, Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre and the transfer station at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility

Empty plastic bottles for detergent, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash etc, rinsed and lid off, may be disposed of in the recycling bin

Detox your home by bringing up to 20L of unwanted disinfectant, in the original container and sealed, to the transfer station located at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. This service is free, and forms part of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program

Consider installing an EnsoPet pet poo composter in your garden (subsidised for residents that attend a composting and wormfarm workshop). Alternatively, place bagged pet waste in the general waste bin

Clean, empty storage drums may be disposed of at the designated area of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. Note: disposal of metal drums is free, however they must be completely open on top. For plastic drums, fees and conditions apply

Electrical appliances such as DVD/CD/video players are classified as E-waste and banned from kerb-side bins. For disposal, visit the E-waste collection area at transfer station located at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, or participating electrical retailers

Electrical appliances are classified as e-waste and disposal is banned in kerbside bins. Please recycling them (at no cost) at the designated collection area at the transfer station at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, or with participating retailers. E-waste encompasses items with an electrical plug, and electronic devices with embedded batteries

Egg shells may be added to compost and worm farms, or placed in the general waste bin

Engine oil cannot be put in kerbside bins. For free disposal (up to 20L), bring engine oil to the Transfer Station at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, for safe disposal as part of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program

Fencing that cannot be resold or listed with a "buy nothing" social media group, may be taken to the designated area of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. Note: fees do not apply for Colourbond, however fees and conditions apply to other types of material

Unwanted fibreglass items such as surfboards, boats (engine removed), spas and ponds may be cut up into pieces, no larger than 1metre x 1 metre, and disposed of at the designated area of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. Please note: when cutting fibreglass, ensure that protective clothing including safety glasses, breathing mask and gloves are worn, as fibres are released upon cutting and crushing cause irritation to the respiratory system, eyes and skin. Landfill fees and conditions apply

A maximum of four (4) non halon red fire extinguishers are accepted at no cost at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility as part of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program

Dispose of floor care products (up to 20kg or 20L) at no cost at the Transfer Station at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, as part of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program

Light globes may be recycled free of cost at lighting retailers, or at recycling hubs at the City's libraries, Administration building, Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre, and the Transfer Station at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling facility

Small quantities of polystyrene may be disposed of in the general waste bin. Larger quantities may be taken to the transfer station at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility for recycling at no cost

Food waste may be disposed of in the general waste bin. Consider attending a compost/worm farming workshop to find out how to turn food waste/scraps into nutrient rich garden fertiliser and compost (and receive a subsidised compost or worm farm system - conditions apply)

Up to 20L, sealed in an appropriate container, may be disposed of at no cost at the Transfer Station at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, as part of the Hazardous Household Waste (HHW) program.

Consider reselling usable furniture, or donating items to the Drop N Shop, conveniently located at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility.

Consider reselling garden tools or donating them to your local Community Garden. Small manual tools unsuited to resale or donation may be placed in the general waste bin

Consider reselling or donating gates in usable condition. If this is not possible, they may be disposed of at the designated area at the landfill site. Disposal charges apply to materials other than metal.

Leather, latex or synthetic gloves may be disposed of in the general waste bin.

If in good working order, consider reselling or donating unwanted oil column heaters. Oil column heaters are classified as E-waste and may be disposed of at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, or participating retailers. 

Detox your home: dispose of unwanted herbicides and pesticides safely, by bringing the product sealed in the original container to the Transfer Station at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. Disposal is free for up to 20L/20kg as part of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program

Broken hot water systems may be included in bulk waste verge collection. Alternatively, disposal is available free of cost at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility as part of E-waste collection (non-commercial quantities only)

Clean IBC tanks, if they cannot be resold, may be disposed of at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility in the designated area, charges and conditions apply

Clothes irons are electrical appliances and are banned from disposal in kerbside bins. For safe disposal, visit the transfer station at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, or participating electrical retailers

Unwanted ironing boards that cannot be resold or donated may be placed out during the bulk waste verge collection, or taken to the designated area of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility

Wrap kitty litter in paper and place in the general waste bin

If lampshades and light fittings are unsuitable for resale or placement on "buy nothing" social media pages, they may be taken to the designated area of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (fees and conditions apply). Smaller items (without any electrical parts) may be disposed of in the general waste bin

If the lawnmower cannot be repaired, it may be taken to the designated area of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (fees and conditions apply), or placed out during the bulk waste verge collection 

Light globes may be recycled at no cost, at any of the City's recycling hubs including Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre, Administration building, libraries, participating retailers, or taken to the transfer station at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility

Hard plastic containers (eg yoghurt, ice-cream, margarine and butter tubs) may be wiped out/or washed and placed in the recycling bin, lid off

Residents are eligible to dispose of two (2) mattresses at no cost, via the City's contractor - Book online https://www.armadale.wa.gov.au/booked-mattress-collection or, phone 9394 5444. Alternatively, mattresses are accepted at the City's Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, fees and conditions apply

Meat trays (plastic, foam or composite materials) may be disposed of in the general waste bin

Empty medicine and vitamin bottles may be disposed of empty, lid off, in the recycling bin

Metal sheds may be recycled at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility transfer station at no cost, if unsuitable for resale 

Mobile phone disposal is banned from kerbside bins. Mobile phone recycling is available at all Woolworths Supermarkets, in addition to mobile phone retail stores

Unwanted nail polish and polish remover (up to 20L) may be disposed of at the Transfer Station, located at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, at no cost.  Nail polish and remover are part of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program

Use sticky tabs to close disposable nappies, and place in the general waste bin. If possible, prior to disposal in the general waste bin, flush solids (poo) in the toilet

Unwanted cooking oil may be placed, when cooled, in a sealed container in the general waste bin. Note: Commercial quantities require an external contractor

Consider reselling or donating outdoor tables in usable condition. Alternatively, they may be disposed of at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, fees and conditions apply

Up to 100L of paint is accepted at no cost, at the Transfer Station section of Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. Note that tins are unable to be returned to customers

Unwanted art/craft paint tubes may be disposed of at the Transfer Station section of Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, at no cost

Paper may be placed in the recycling bin (yellow lid) or added to compost and worm farms

Unwanted pavers may be resold or listed with "buy nothing" social media pages. Alternatively, pavers may be disposed of at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, fees and conditions apply

Place empty, rinsed metal cans in the recycling bin, with the lid pushed down inside the rim

Unwanted photographs may be disposed of in the general waste bin

Small pillows may be placed in the general waste bin. Large quantities may be disposed of at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, fees and conditions apply

Soiled cardboard pizza boxes may be disposed of in the general waste bin

Small plasterboard offcuts may be placed in the general waste bin. Large quantities may be disposed of at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling facility, fees and conditions apply

Empty food and drink packaging, rinsed and lid off, (eg yoghurt containers, plastic milk bottles) may be disposed of in the recycling bin (yellow lid)

Dispose of unwanted small quantities of polypipe in the general waste bin. Larger quantities may be disposed of at Armadale Landfill and Recycling facility, fees and conditions apply

There are several pool blanket disposal options: list on a "buy nothing" social media page, or place out during bulk verge collection. Alternatively, visit the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Centre (fees apply). Recycling is available for any brand of pool blanket at Daisy Pool Covers in Welshpool, Monday to Friday from 7am to 12pm, however, fee for service of $20 applies

Unwanted pool pumps may be placed out during bulk waste verge collection, or disposed of at the designated area at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (note fees and conditions apply) 

If unsuitable for donation or resale, prams may be placed out during bulk waste verge collection, or taken to the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (fees and conditions apply)

Printer and photocopier ink and toner cartridges may be recycled at no cost, at any of the City's recycling hubs located at the City's libraries, Armadale Fitness and Aquatic Centre, The Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, or participating retailers

Broken Pyrex © kitchenware may be disposed of in the general waste bin, as the composition differs from common glass, and therefore it cannot be recycled

Razors and replacement blades cannot be recycled, dispose of these items in the general waste bin

Remote controls are classified as e-waste and disposal in kerbside bins is banned. Remove any batteries, and dispose of at the transfer station section of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility or participating electrical retailers, at no cost

Short lengths of rope may be disposed of in the general waste bin. Longer lengths may be disposed of at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (fees and conditions apply)

Dispose of scrap metal at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility at no cost (maximum 2.6 cubic metres applies) 

Unwanted shower screens may be disposed of at the designated area of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility landfill (fees and conditions apply)

Consider donating silicone bakeware to an Op-shop, alternatively bakeware may be placed in the general waste bin

Solar panels and solar lights are classified as E-waste and banned from disposal in kerbside bins. Dispose of these items at the e-waste section of the Transfer Station, located at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (note: no cost applies up to 4 items)

Sports uniforms in wearable condition should be returned to the relevant sports club for reuse. Alternatively, uniforms may be placed in the general waste bin

Unwanted stoves and hotplates may be placed out at bulk waste verge collection, or taken to the designated area at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. These items are classified as E-waste and disposal of up to 4 items is free

Sunglasses and prescription eyeglasses may be recycled at eyewear retailers as part of an Australia wide program. Alternatively, they may be placed in the general waste bin

Consider taking a reusable cup to your favourite café, alternatively, dispose of takeaway cups in the general waste bin

Teabags may be added to compost and worm farms (remove staple if applicable). Alternatively, teabags may be disposed of in the general waste bin

Tetra packs used for foods such as milk and juice may be disposed of in the general waste bin

Terracotta/cement roof tiles and floor and wall tiles may be disposed of at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (fees and conditions apply). Consider listing surplus tiles with "buy nothing" social media pages to enable reuse

Electrical appliances are classified as e-waste and are banned from disposal in kerbside bins. Take up to 4 (four) E-waste items, at no cost, to the Transfer Station at Armadlale Landfill and Recycling Facility

Manual tools that cannot donated to community groups such as the Men's Shed or the City's Drop N Shop may be disposed of in the general waste bin in small quantities

Unwanted toys in working condition may be donated or swapped with other families. Broken toys (non electrical) may be taken to BIG W's instore toy collection bin, or disposed of in the general waste bin. Electrical toys are banned from kerbside bins, and should be taken to the e-waste collection area of the Transfer Station at Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility

Unwanted transmission fluid may be disposed of at the Transfer Platform at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. There is no cost for up to 20L/20Kg sealed in the original container, as part of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program

Tyres must not be disposed of in kerbside bins, or placed out during verge collection. Tyres are accepted for disposal at the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (note: fees and conditions apply) 

Vacuum cleaner dust bag contents may be disposed of in the general waste bin

Small quantities of vinyl flooring may be disposed of in the general waste bin. Larger quantities may be placed out during bulk waste verge collection, or taken directly to the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility (note: fees and conditions apply)

Machines in working condition may be resold or donated. If broken, they may be placed out for bulk waste verge collection, or taken to the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility at no cost (note: conditions regarding quantities apply)

Wet wipes (or baby wipes) may be disposed of in the general waste bin. Do not flush these items down the toilet as they block sewage pipes and do not break down during sewage treatment

Window frames may be taken to the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility if unable to be reused (note: fees and conditions apply). Empty metal frames can be taken to the metal recycling area of the Transfer Station

Dispose of up to 20L/20kg of unwanted wood preservatives such as decking oil, sealed in the original container, at the Transfer Station section of the Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility. This item is accepted at no cost as part of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program
