Wide shot of hall with lots of guests at tables enjoying afternoon tea
Release Date:
Thursday, 15 August 2024

The City of Armadale celebrated our Pioneers, hosting the annual reunion at Kelmscott Hall on Saturday 10 August 2024.

The City’s Pioneers have been residing in the City for 50 years or more and form an important part of the City’s history and culture.

Over 200 pioneers attended the 2024 reunion, to enjoy socialising over a delicious afternoon tea.

Mayor Ruth Butterfield said: It’s a wonderful tradition for old friends and neighbours to catchup and celebrate the great history they’ve shared during their time living in the City of Armadale. The City thanks them for their continued contributions to the community.”

The door prize went to Averil Bingham who won a hamper of local goodies sourced from Raeburn Orchards in Roleystone.

The theme for 2024 focused on the railway line, with historic photos and a slideshow showing the changes the City has experienced since 1938.
