The City of Armadale is set to receive a boost to its emergency services facilities if a Morrison Government is re-elected, thanks to a $2.2 million Federal funding pledge for the new Roleystone Fire Station at Springdale Park.
Mayor Ruth Butterfield said today’s welcome announcement will assist the City to deliver a new, modern, fit-for-purpose facility that local fire-fighting volunteers and the community can be proud of.
“The City has prioritised the construction of a contemporary facility on the southern boundary of Springdale Park. Similar to the fire station at Bedfordale opened last year, the facility will be purpose-built to service the local area from a fire risk management perspective,” said Mayor Butterfield.
“Council has already provided for the DFES Fire and Rescue Service within the Roleystone town site to remain in the existing facility at Cross Park.
“We’re pleased to have the need for this new facility in such a high fire risk area acknowledged. Our thanks go to Member for Canning, the Hon Andrew Hastie MP for advocating for these funds.
“The Government’s commitment recognises and acknowledges the valuable and life-saving work of our fire-fighting volunteers who provide an amazing service to the community,” said Mayor Butterfield.
