The City of Armadale recently released the Community Health and Wellbeing Plan 2021-2024 (CHWP).
This three year strategic plan provides a frame work to contribute to improving health and wellbeing outcomes for residents to enable people to live well and experience the best possible quality of life. The CHWP has been developed to meet the amendment (Part 5) to the Public Health Act 2016 and public health planning recommendations from the Department of Health.
The development of the CHWP involved an extensive consultation process with over 1,000 residents, 147 staff and 19 stakeholder organisations involved.
Armadale Mayor Ruth Butterfield said as a local government we have a responsibility to assist our community in creating healthier lifestyles.
“By working together in tandem with our community, I’m confident we can create a healthy future for all who reside or work within the City of Armadale.
“This public health plan sets out a comprehensive approach to deliver improved public health and wellbeing outcomes for all people living our growing community”, said Mayor Butterfield.
The Community Health and Wellbeing Plan identifies three areas:
- Chronic disease prevention
- Environmental health protection
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing
