Paint your face blue, don a kilt and sign up now for the Perth Kilt Run to be held on Sunday 3 October. The charity run is part of the City of Armadale’s Highland Gathering celebrating all things Scottish and Australia’s only fun run done in a kilt.
“The Armadale Highland Gathering and Perth Kilt Run are premier events for the city attracting large crowds from Armadale and across the greater Perth region,” said Mayor Ruth Butterfield.
“This unique event at the City’s Minnawarra Park is for the whole community and given last year’s event was cancelled because of the pandemic, we are looking forward to getting together this year.”
Participants can choose from the 2.5km ‘Classic’ which is pram and wheelchair friendly, or the 5km ‘Warrior’. Following the fun run, the Armadale Highland Gathering offers visitors the chance to experience Scottish market stalls, highland dancing, pipe band competitions, meet and greet Scottish dogs, watch events that test strength and power, and taste traditional Scottish delights such as haggis, while watching Ceilidh dancing.
Part proceeds raised from the Perth Kilt Run will support the following charities —headspace Armadale, The Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Foundation, and The Amanda Young Foundation.
Registrations for this year’s Perth Kilt Run are now open at perthkiltrun.com.au.
