In another significant milestone, the WA Liberal Party and Opposition Leader Libby Mettam have committed to funding the Armadale Regional Recreation Reserve (ARRR), if elected at the WA State Election in March 2025.

Mayor Ruth Butterfield said: “We have been tirelessly advocating for this project, and we are extremely pleased that the WA Liberal Party have committed to $20M funding toward Stage 1A of the ARRR, if elected.

“The ARRR is an essential project that will serve our rapidly growing population and provide the much-needed facilities for kids that are currently missing out on playing netball and basketball. By building the ARRR Stage 1A, we will be making a positive impact on current and future generations.

“The City will continue to advocate for support from the Federal Government, recognising that outer metropolitan growth areas like ours, are only able to provide Regional facilities when all levels of government work together. We are dependent on a matching financial contribution from the Federal Government to make the ARRR Stage 1A a reality.”

The ARRR is a proposed multi-stage development set to be the future regional facility for local sporting and community clubs to service the growing population of Armadale and Perth’s metropolitan South East corridor.

You can learn more about the ARRR on the City’s Engage Page.
