Registrations are now open for the City of Armadale’s Perth Kilt Run being held as part of the Highland Gathering on Sunday 10 September at Minnawarra Park from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
The Highland Gathering and the Perth Kilt Run attracts thousands to the heart of Armadale each year, with hundreds donning a kilt for a fun run around the City centre, with 2.5 and 5 kilometre routes available.
Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said the Perth Kilt Run joined in with Armadale’s Highland Gathering celebrations four years ago, and is a popular item on the City of Armadale’s event calendar.
“Perth Kilt Run offers fun for the whole family, suitable for every fitness level. We expect a growing number of residents to enjoy time in a kilt for this year’s Perth Kilt Run,” Mayor Zelones said.
Perth Kilt Run entry fees apply of $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for youth with free entry for children 12 years and under. Group discounts are available. Registered fun runners are encouraged to purchase a kilt online for the day.
“Proceeds from the registration fees go to the local charities The Amanda Young Foundation and the Intensive Care Foundation, which is another reason to be involved in this year’s event.”
The Highland Gathering, to be held the same day, will feature a medieval fair, a Scottish clan village, a meet and greet with Scottish dogs and heavy events with strongmen amongst many other attractions.
