The City of Armadale welcomes newly elected Cr John Keogh following the City’s Extraordinary Election held on Saturday 3 July.
Cr Keogh will fill the vacancy left by former River Ward Councillor Hugh Jones, who resigned earlier this year after being elected as the Member for Darling Range in the State Government election in March.
The Extraordinary Election was run by postal vote through the Western Australian Electoral Commission, and the City’s CEO Joanne Abbiss thanked the returning officer and staff for the manner in which the election was conducted.
“We now have a full complement of elected members who will continue to work together as a team to meet the needs of our fast growing community.
“A total of four candidates contested the River Ward seat and this indicates a healthy level of interest in serving the community,” said Ms Abbiss.
Cr Keogh will complete his term in October 2023 and will be sworn in at a Council meeting on Monday 12 July.
