The City of Armadale, in association with Arboriculture Australia, was proud to host a seminar on tree protection at the Kim Fletcher Gallery in Armadale District Hall.
The seminar was enjoyed by multiple City business units and saw attendees from other local governments and businesses.
Presenter Mark Hartley is a consulting arborist with over 30 years in the industry. Arboriculture Australia brought Mark to Perth to share his expertise and experience that comes from presenting tree seminars all over the world.
The seminar served as a reminder about tree resiliency, and the substantial benefits that thriving trees can bring to a community. Trees play a significant role in reducing the ‘heat island effect’ in urban areas and supporting a healthy ecosystem.
Mayor Ruth Butterfield said: “Trees play several crucial roles in our community, adding visual character and amenity, providing homes to local fauna, and cooling our suburbs. The City is grateful for the opportunity to learn more about tree protection and actions to implement in the future”.
