The City of Armadale Visitor Centre will cease to act as a ticketing agent on behalf of Ticketek and Ticketmaster, effective from 1 July 2017.
Following an extensive review, it became evident that the City could not continue to carry the costs (which outweighed commissions by 500%) associated with providing these ticketing services, especially given the current pressures on council budgets.
Mayor Henry Zelones OAM, JP said our officers have taken into consideration that in recent years the market trends have shifted to a more online focus, and that the cost of providing these services have now becoming unviable for the City.
“The business model for this service just does not work anymore.
“Ticketek and Ticketmaster are now a predominately online service and all tickets can be purchased online, anywhere at any time.
“This was never more evident than when Ticketmaster ran a campaign recently to encourage Ed Sheeran fans to go online to purchase their tickets, rather than queuing outside Ticketmaster locations,” he said.
Residents that don’t have access to a computer or printer can visit the Armadale, Seville Grove or Kelmscott libraries to use the public computers to purchase and print tickets.
