To celebrate the end of second term the Barnyard Buddies small animals visited the City of Armadale’s Champion Centre on Wednesday 25 June.
Children from the Coolabaroo Playgroup, Nubararch Quarnt Kaatdijin Playgroup, and the Armadale Community Family Centre playgroup, enjoyed the opportunity to interact and get up close to pat and feed the cute small animals.
Mayor Henry Zelones said after recently becoming a first time grandparent himself, he realised the important of giving children, especially City children, the chance to interact with farm animals.
“The Barnyard Buddies visit to the centre was certainly a great hit with the young children, whose eyes lit up in amazement.
“For a number of children this was their first opportunity to explore nature and they delighted in having turns to hold and pat the small cuddly animals.
“Although the guinea pigs, rabbits and baby chicks proved to be the hero of the day, some of the older children had the biggest thrill bottle feeding the hungry baby lambs and kid goats," said Mayor Zelones
