At the close of nominations, a record 25 were received for the forthcoming Council election, with 24 candidates to contest six vacancies across as many wards. Postal vote packs are expected to reach residents during the week commencing 2 October.
Cr Colin Campbell was elected unopposed to the Palomino ward at the close of nominations on Thursday 14 September.
Chief Executive Officer Ray Tame said it was great to see so many Armadale citizens nominating to serve their community over the next four years.
“The City of Armadale is now the 10th fastest growing local authority in the nation, and we have some exciting times ahead. We are looking forward to working with a dynamic Council to ensure the City of Armadale continues to cater for its community now and into the future,” Mr Tame said.

If posting their ballot back, residents are encouraged to do so by Friday 13 October. Or residents can lodge their vote in person to the City of Armadale Administration Office between 16 October and election day on Saturday 21 October, with the office open from 8am to 6pm on election day.
The election results will be available via the WA Electoral Commission and City of Armadale websites from Sunday 22 October.
